My principle in life changes during this occasion. For instance, I am never a believer of moving dates for convenience, I believe the speciality of the event is taken-out if you celebrate it on different date, but not during Valentine’s day. Another example, in gift giving, I make it a point to give generous gift if budget permits, or execute well-planned, heart-warming, jaw-dropping, tear-jerking surprise on our every milestone, but never for Valentines. I made this realization after I was asked by HBB Flo of my plans, I said “none” (but it’s “yuck” in my mind. lol). I don’t want to corrupt her mind, to each is to own, as they say, maybe some people are not just for valentine and that includes me. But, I still prepare a little something for mi esposo every year I still don’t want him to be left out. This year, I gave him this: my proof of forever love in a photo frame, simple but says it all. He can put this on his office table or he can use it as a pendant, if he wishes. lol

"give of love" - heart's day 2012

God is love. Mi bebe refuses her very own grandmommy (yes, my MIL). This is a clear manifestation of stranger anxiety. Stranger anxiety is a condition wherein young children is distressed with the presence of unfamiliar people. These unfamiliar people may simply mean people living outside the premise of their own home, irregardless if they are a family member or a close family friend. Babies tend to be more selective about who to hold them, play with them or even touch them. Babies can begin to develop this as early as 6 months and may last up to toodlerhood. At this time, babies are beginning to gain knowledge that all people are not the same. Again, this is another good sign of mental development, only if taken positively. Mi bebe started to acquire this at around 8 months and I'm glad to report that she is starting to overcome this situation. I am thankful that relatives like her grandmommy supports and understands her.

How to help babies overcome stranger anxiety:

Don't pressure your baby (and don't feel pressured as well). Allow your baby to be familiar with new faces and situation in their own pace, don't push them to be sociable all at once. Forcing them will make them feel more uncomfortable and would increase their anxiety.

Don't ignore baby's distress. What their feeling during these situations are real. Parents should address the upset immediately but without making too big a deal out of it. Parents should provide reassurance by giving lots of affection either by hugging and/or kissing. They should also make it a point to be available when babies are faced with new people.

Warn your relatives and friends of the situation. These people are most often than not most excited to be with your baby and might feel bad and take it personally if the baby refused to be with them. They must be told to give time and space for your baby to warm-up. Also, teach them techniques on how to approach your baby. They can offer favorite or familiar toys (and wait for the baby to accept it).

Start introducing or exposing your baby at an early age. Try to make your baby accustomed to meeting new people. Showing pictures of long-distanced relatives is also a good way to familiarize your baby.

Hap-py Friday!

I am having a hard time giving mi bebe her “before to bed milk” now. I had no problem with this ever since. She can finish 1 bottle straight-up even after she just had dinner. It’s part of her sleeping routine of some sorts. But this week, for some unknown reason she suddenly would not want to drink it. Either she just plays with the nipple or snobs it altogether. I am considering shifting to other milk formulas but it still have to pass thorough consideration and approval of mi esposo. Sounds too bossy, huh? In short, he just needs to choose either: 1) to shift other brands now; or 2) shift to other brands after the present formula is consumed. lol Just kidding, no decision yet, we still have to weight its pros and cons further. Anyhow, we both agreed that her present formula is the best in the market and her behavior might be due from other factors. We still have to observe.

Last night as I was <strike>forcing</strike> asking mi bebe to drink her milk, I told her sounding frustrated, “Do you know how to make Nanay happy? Just finish your milk”. Coming from nowhere she said “HAP-PY” in the softest and most angelic voice. It was the sweetest word I ever heard. Did she drink her milk? Forget it! Some babies usually take their first step as early as 11 months, some waits until 18 months. It takes a lot of courage and hard works for babies to be able to walk alone. Allow me to recount here the blow-by-blow development of mi bebe's walking. I hope you could pick useful data along the way.

Mi bebe showed interest in walking as early as 4 months, whenever I hold her under her arms, she’ll dangle her legs and push against the floor with her feet, as if walking. She liked that exercise a lot, but the elders say not to push it because her legs are not that strong yet and may affect the development of her hips. I therefore brought this up with her Pedia. According to her Pedia, getting-up and sitting by herself are the best signs of readiness to walk, we have to wait around 7-8 months for that.

Around 7 months, she was trying to pull herself to a standing position while holding on the sofa. I thought it was the best time to scout for a baby walker. I didn’t want to buy one because I think it is not a good investment and it will only be useful for a short period of time. I just asked from mommy-friends who believed otherwise and are willing to lend their baby's. Around 8 months I was able to put mi bebe on a walker. Mi bebe enjoyed every bit of her walker-time, she literally runs around the house with it.

borrowed from Jico (son of mommy-friend Joy)

Looking back, I wish I didn’t put her into walker. It didn’t help her gain confidence in walking solo thus made her dependent on support walker gave her. I should have listened to other mommy-friends who told me to just let her cruise (- is a term to describe baby's walking while holding everything possible, from walls to tables to chairs). Just make sure to baby proof your place by putting soft pads on the floor and walls too. I’m a first time Nanay, next time I know better. lol

Few days before her 1st birthday, she had mastered standing solo. She’s also walking while gripping on our hands. Now, she’s totally dependent with somebody’s guide. We tried to encourage her but somewhere, somehow she can’t get the courage for herself. I started to feel frustrated.

Mi bebe was turning 15 months when I had a chance to talk with mommy-friend Val. I told her my concern. She assured me that mi bebe is perfectly normal and I just need to be patient in dealing with her. She even suggested to make use of the diaper cloth as harness-walker (it’s a traditional and effective way to walk-train babies in the Philippines. Just wrap the cloth diaper around baby’s body and presto, instant walker). That made sense, I realized mi bebe needs to be assured of her safety. If nobody’s holding her yet she doesn’t stumble, then she'll acquire the confidence she needs to walk. That's when I remembered that we bought her harness type walker when she was just 8 months. It was kept in the bin and left unused. Now is the perfect time to test its purpose.

In less than 2 weeks of use, mi bebe was able to walk solo. I will not be anxious of hurting her and she will not be upset with the refrained hand movements. I cut her nails on a weekly basis, when she was younger, I cut her nails twice per week, baby’s nail tends to grow faster and become a natural sharp weapon that can scratch not only them but you as well. For me, it is best to cut nails after day bath because 1) nails are still soft and 2) there is ample light.

But last weekend, I tried cutting her nails, while she's awake. I did this because I think it’s about time to make her aware of good grooming and personal hygiene. Besides, she can already comprehend I can already tell her my purpose and ask her to be still. I'd like to share some pointers here, with your indulgence your honors. lol

1) You may hold the baby on your lap to get a good position or put her hand on your lap (as shown below). Make sure to have a good nail clippers. For mi bebe, I did not bother buy baby clippers, just the regular one with good grip and small cutting edge. It is specifically for her use alone, as should be (for sanitary purpose). But I still make it a point to wipe it with cotton with alcohol before and after every use.

2) After cutting the first nail above, she became impatient and less interested with what I’m doing. I must admit I was slow, I’m just being careful. So, I moved to her toe nails instead.

3) I let her play with her toys to keep her mind away from the cutting. And I also entertained her by singing her favorite song. It worked! I was able to finished 10 toe nails.

what's up with that expression bebe? lol

4) So I tried my luck on the finger nails again, but at this point she's already too sleepy. I was only able to cut one nail again, then I put her to sleep.

5) I was able to finish the remaining finger nails the usual way - while she's sleeping.

I made sure, I took the thumb first

6) Nice try! We tried to talk her around but after sometime, we let her be. Who are we to hinder her growth? We still see each other every once in a while especially during family affairs. I am a godmother to her daughter and mi esposo is a self-proclaimed godfather (to be) to her son. I'd like to think we have a lot in common, we’re on the same age and I believe we're on the same wave length. She’s witty and bitchy-sweet. She’s the only one capable of being brutally frank and funny at the same time. She’s a friend to her hubby, a cool and dedicated mommy, good sister and loving daughter all at the same time. I miss her, especially now that I’m raising a kid of my own. How I wish we can exchange notes on motherhood every lunch and snack times and coffee breaks and chitchat times and every time in between. She’s Val btw, and it’s her birthday. That's sums up the weekend that was. Actually it was mi bebe who's been productive during those days, I'd like to make an in-depth post on what transcribed over the last 2 days (so watch out for it, I will link it here for future reference) but now let me just give you an overview: 1) she was able to walk alone, 2) I was able to cut her nails while she's awake, and 3) she's slowly overcoming her stranger anxiety (yes, this is different from separation anxiety I've discussed the other time, now you know babies passes through different kinds of anxieties).

I still can’t get-over the weekend, but reality bites. Whether I don't like it or I don't like it, I have to leave home and report for work. Anyway, I trust that I’ll be productive in the office myself. Today we are scheduled to attend a lecture on the guidelines in the use of the revised form of the Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Networth or simply “the controversial” SALN. I say controversial because its all over news nowadays, as it is one of the grounds of the impeachment case filed against the chief justice. Per RA No. 6713, all government officers and employees are mandated to submit under oath, their individual/joint SALNs annually. In my case, I jointly file it with mi esposo since SALN declares the income, properties (real or personal), expenses, loans payable and the difference thereof of all the earning-member within the household. So, there is no need for us to file separately since we live under one household. Again, mi esposo and I both work for the government under one agency but different offices (he’s an IT and I’m on the budgetary affairs, no nepotism whatsoever). In today’s lecture, the contents and the know-hows on filling the revised form will be explained, (the one you see in the senate hearings is the old form). The Civil Service Commission already issued revised form since 2008 but the use of it was suspended due to numerous request/complaints from declarants.

Aside from that, I am also anticipating for another productivity in the name of Productivity Incentive Bonus. This is a bonus generated from the agency's savings. We are asked to submit accomplishments based on targets for the given period of time. Your point score has the corresponding monetary value, e.g. 9.5-10 = <s style="text-line-through: double;">P</s>3,000, 7.51-9.49=<s style="text-line-through: double;"> P</s>2,000 and 4.01 – 7.5 = <s style="text-line-through: double;">P</s>1,000, no monetary reward for scores lower than 4. Now, that is the kind of productivity I want, government employees (me especially) are shallow like that.

Separation Anxiety

As I already implied on my previous post, we leave the house very early just so we can avail of the employees’ privilege of riding in the office’s shuttle bus. Today is no exception, only with a slight difference with the routine. As early as our waking time, mi bebe was also already awake (did we awaken her? I’m sure.). But unlike most kids, mi bebe is vibrant as soon as she sets her awake mode - ON. She would greet you with the sweetest and the most irresistible smile in the world. She’s energetic and ready to play whatever time it is, may it be dawn just like today. We were bit behind our morning schedule because as I told you she is irresistible. But are petting needed to be cut short because we have to face the fact that we have to say bye-byes. Did she cry? Of course, she cried. It’s normal to kids her age and it is termed as Separation Anxiety. During child’s younger years, crying, tantrums, or clinging are healthy reactions to separation. In fact, it is said that the child’s brain is functioning accordingly. See, mi bebe's reaction was brought about by her intelligence. Separation anxiety can begin before a child’s turns one and/or may last until they are four years old. But, you can ease your child’s separation anxiety by staying patient and consistent, and by gently but firmly setting limits. Overtime, I have gained skill in dealing with mi bebe’s separation anxiety by doing the following:

Practice separation. I did this by leaving her with her yaya for a brief period and short distances, say I just go to the other room and come back after few minutes. In that way she will feel secured that you will be back whenever you leave.

Schedule separations after naps or feedings. Simply because, kids are in the mood when rested and they are more irritated and prone to separation anxiety when they’re tired or hungry.

Develop a “goodbye” ritual. Don’t just disappear when they are not looking (this is the most common Filipino parents’ mistake), tell your kid you just need to go and will be back as soon as possible. Goodbyes reassure your child that they will be just fine, while a ritual can be as simple as a special wave or a goodbye kiss.

Make new surroundings familiar. When the family is away from home, let the kids bring a familiar object, it will provide them a feel-at-home vibe.

Leave without fanfare. Just go, don’t go back, don't look back. Sounds cruel, but don't you think repeating her anxiety when you leave again is more cruel?

Try not to give in with your emotion. Don’t think my heart do not break when I hear her cry, to be honest I cry one myself but I just have to be firm and consistent which in turn will benefit mi bebe.

15th Month

Mi bebe is growing fast. Everyday, she surprises us with something we never thought she would know or recall. She’s only 15 months. She cannot utter a full word but she communicates. She responds to conversations like “who’s you Tatay?” (she points to wherever her Tatay is), “do you want milk?” (she nods), “let’s feed mash” or “let’s go out” (she automatically asked to be carried). She can gesture a dance move she once saw, she remembers each game we introduced her, she mumble syllables as if singing (you can name that tune). She identifies thing that belongs to her, she calls her favorite doll “bie”, and she grabs her pillow whenever she’s sleepy. She’s happy when we read her a book, she can count ‘til 5 with her finger. She’s techie-baby too, she can navigate her Tatay’s iPhone, turn-off a laptop and use a cellphone.

At 15 months, she already shared fair amount of tantrums. Had made her Tatay mad with her stubbornness, and made me disappointed especially during meal times. She makes me worry with her roughness with kids when she gets excited and concerns me with her stranger anxiety.

Mi bebe is exactly 15 months today, she cannot say an understandable, clear and full word, she still cannot walk on her own, she tests our patience at times, but she never fails to make us happy. She simply is our breath of fresh air.

Welcome February

Feb. 1 today, 1 month of 2012 had pass in a blink. As they say, before we knew it, it's Christmas again. Today, is my blog's half-monthsary too, can you believe it I survived! On that note, I would like to share what blogging has made me so far:

1) It got me hooked. And I’m nearing addiction. My mind is always on the compose mode, even in my sleep. I rarely talk, I barely listen to anything. My eyes are glued on the monitor. I’m always on the go when I eat, 1 cup of rice will only take me 5 spoonfuulllls to finish (new talent here). I am now planning to shift my career, from a full-time government employee/part-time blogger, to a full-time blogger/part-time government employee. Just kidding boss! Ofcourse, it's all in exaggerations. But blogging made me articulate and provides mind exercise. Freestyle writing is as challenging.

2) I gained fan base. Which mi esposo established (I think he is the only member too). He always read my posts and compliments me for my good writing (he’s my husband, what do you expect?). One time he told me “I like your post about me momma”, I said “Really? That’s my blog’s name (you *#4=$*!)”, he said “Ah, right, your latest post I mean”. He also supports me by listening to my ecstatic stories of success. On different scenario I told him I had 7 audiences from Russia, he said “Oh, that’s good. You’ll never know, this might be your chance to be famous, we can always migrate to Russia”. I just love mi esposo like that.

3) I’m web sociable. I now have guts to comment on blog entries, I am no longer shy to bare my identity and I already asked 3 of my favorite bloggers for exchange links and they all.. did not reply. No worries, I still don’t know how to put blog link on my page anyway. lol Let’s all take our time (but please somebody teach me how).

4) I'm a celebrity now. I found out that one of my posts was featured here. It's the OscarSeek Website as he describes his site, "Oscar likes to explore the internet and add his favorite topics to this website". Thank you for including my post in your site. As to how, don't ask me. I'm also as clueless, old time bloggers may criticize me and say its usual, but I'm not an old timer so its unsual to me.

I’m in love with blogging now, I super enjoy it to the point that I forgot that my main motivation is to earn (I'll get to that sometime). As of press time, I turned down 2 ice cream invites.

Obsessive Compulsive (OC) MomMa

My middle name is OC I forgot to tell. Working Nanay plus being OC equates paranoia. You see, I’m out of the house more than half of the ideal waking time [to do precise math its around 13 hours a day - 8 hours in the office, 1 hour lunch break, 4 hours on the road back and forth (that long? You can blame it to our shuttle bus driver. Not that he drives slow, the opposite actually, he’s just a loner, he wants to be alone on the road, <strike>imagine we leave at 0515 and we’re in the office at 0545 when our official office time starts at 0800 and we can’t do anything to protest because</strike>, sorry different story)], which only means I’m not there to look after mi bebe during day time. Some say I’m lucky my retired Mama is there to supervise mi bebe’s yaya. At the back of my mind, I say not really. Although a day is not enough to give credit to Mother for taking care of precious mi bebe, the same length of time is as not enough to vent my issues with her. Let’s not talk about the positive aspect, it’s already given, she’s the grandmamma, the love, care and affection cannot be questioned. I will just name few of my rants:

1) She is a spoiler, well most, if not all, grandparents are. So whatever mi bebe wants she gets it through her Lola. If she wants the remote control to be her teether, she can have it. If she wants to walk barefooted, so be it. I bet they’re sharing spoon too if I'm not on the look. Such mortal sins to us OCs you know.

2) She’s not OC like me. You can just imagine how I argue with her every time I see the bottle is left uncovered, the cloth diaper is on the floor and forgotten, when she carries mi bebe without disinfecting with alcohol and the like. Simple things that only OC nanay will dare create an argument with. Which lead me to:

3) I can never win. What can I do, I’m still the daughter.

My OC remedy is to prepare everything ahead. When I say everything, I mean everything - from her toiletries, to her dress for the day, to her diapers, to her vitamins and most especially her milk. Only I (or mi esposo) can touch and scoop the milk from the can, you know for sanitary purposes. Daily, either of us will pre-scoop her milk and place it in a milk dispenser, we also prepare the water for milk beforehand by putting the right amount of water on every feeding bottle. All they have to do is to mix together and shake. I even required them to fill-up the chart I made to monitor her diaper changes and milk intakes (and I verify it mind you). I also check on everything as I arrive home. I ask her yaya to wash every washable toy, the water basin she uses and the bottle dryer every day.

But one day, mi esposo lectured me about trust. He told me, “learn to trust people around our bebe” they will not mean and will never cause harm. He even told me that a little germ will even help develop natural antibodies to our bebe’s immune system. Being a submissive wife that I am, I dutifully took his advice by heart. So from then on, I do not impose on the chart thingy anymore. Life goes on as usual. =)

The Simpsons

The Simpson Family as they first appeared in The Tracey Ullman Show

The Simpsons is the longest-running animated television series in the US today, its Guinness Book of World Record certified. The show is an animated-satire, spoofing the present state of the (US) society - may it be political, religious and even showbiz – as depicted in the lifestyle of a typical family, who lived in a town called “Springfield”. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie simply poke fun at everything and anything. With their subversive humor and wit, the family never fails to leave a valuable lesson at every episode. Oh well, who doesn't know The Simpsons anyway? I practically grew-up loving this cartoon. And I love it more that the characters do not physically age and still appear just as they did, it gives me nostalgic effect.

Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie and Bart stars in thier own animated show

Last weekend, as mi esposo was browsing the tube for a show to watch, he came across with the Simpsons. As a fan, I demanded (understatement actually) that we stay-tuned. And to my surprise, even mi bebe liked it. Although I’m not sure whether she understood, at least she paid attention. As a Nanay, the Simpsons is one of the shows I would allow mi bebe to watch (at her age, with supervision ofcourse). I’m confident that although the Simpson family is dysfunctional, many episodes examine their relationships with one another and they often shown to care with each other. It is a day where in the sacrifices of mothers are honored and their influence to the society is celebrated. Mother’s day Grinch would tell you that it is only a fabrication of enterprising minds. It is just a marketing strategy to promote whatever it is that they want to sell. I am a mother, but yes I agree with the Grinch. I don’t believe a single day would be enough to honor mothers with gift and pampering. As a working mother like me, just seeing mi bebe cries as I leave for work is a sacrifice on its own, that’s why that glow on her face when she sees me home is my most precious gift of the day. It is still optional until now, but on Monday, Timeline is going to be mandatory - read: the profile page we know and love will be totally revamped - whether we like it or not. Via the official Facebook blog, the site announced, “Last year we introduced timeline, a new kind of profile that lets you highlight the photos, posts and life events that help you tell your story. Over the next few weeks, everyone will get timeline. When you get timeline, you'll have 7 days to preview what's there now. This gives you a chance to add or hide whatever you want before anyone else sees it”.

People over the web make fuss about this, they say it exposes their entire networking history. They say, it reincarnates off pictures and posts that they might have wanted to forget. If you ask me, I also dislike Timeline, but that is just because I don’t like how it looks, to quote my friend, “it looks so Friendster-ish”, I do not like the photos screaming at your face and your whereabout is so stalker-friendly (I read that photo and albums can now be tagged with locations). Nice thing is that, Timeline comes with “hide” button. Which btw annoys me as well, I just don’t get why people post something that they really would not want to be seen. Users should be responsible with everything they post over these sites, once you post something, face it, it becomes public property, if you don’t want any comments and whatnots from seers, then don’t post, simple. I believe it’s the main reason why Facebook regulates the age of its users - R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y. If I may barrow GMA 7’s tagline “Think before you click” – that sums it up.

Yes, I’m furious, did you feel it? That’s because we are not allowed to Facebook here in the office! How can we be friends, oh dear Timeline, if we’re restricted like that. :(

Dragon Baby

According to Chinese tradition, Dragon babies - those born in the year of the Dragon - are believed to be blessed with good fortune, luck, power and strength. Couples are also believed to conceive until about May 2 so that their babies will be born in the Year of the Dragon (source).

Hmmmm. Ironically, I can't help but recall my day-dreaming days, I always wanted a baby born on the year of the Tiger. It is my belief that a Tiger in the house is the very best protection against burglary. Yes, I’m shallow like that. My SIL who knew this dream teased me that my chance of having a tiger baby was diminishing (it was Feb. that time) and I conceded. But lady luck was on my side, on April we found out that I am 8 weeks on the family way. We had mi bebe on that specific Chinese year, it must be will power that worked. Hold-on, mi esposo must be seriously joking alright or his <strike>charm</strike> will power might worked too.lol

Incidentally, we are actually expecting dragon babies (I am hoping it would be more than 1). If this agency can do, the more we must in our households (no AOs needed), especially it’s our hard earned money whose going to pay for it. On that note, I’ve listed few tips to save-up electric consumption, these are all do-able and effective base on my experience.

1) Choose lesser evil (or which appliance is more important at a given time). If you have to turn-on the A/C during your kid's (humid) afternoon nap, then turn-off the fridge (2-3 hours will not harm food stored in the fridge especially if nobody opens its door). Also, set the A/C’s timer at night. (Again, 2-3 hours is enough to cool you down, your electric fan can do the rest). Try sleep pooling (sleeping together in one room will prevent you to turn-on A/Cs in individual rooms).

2) Schedule ironing and laundries (again, apply tip #1 here). In our family of 3, we iron our clothes bi-monthly and laundry’s weekly. Preferably, do these in the morning while you can still use the natural light and most importantly no inviting shows available on the tube (no interesting show means no peaking on the TV while doing your chore).

3) Before you sleep or goes out of the house, remember to unplug all unused appliances and double check if the lights are off (self-explanatory here). It’s also safer that way.

4) During over-humid days, you can always refer to your favorite mall. You can surely save-up on your electric consumption (just be ready with additional shopping expense.lol)

Quiapo Day

In my opinion, Quiapo must be the busiest district in Manila. I remember my teacher back in HS said, “if you’re lost, go to Quiapo and you will surely find your way home”. Why not, every possible bound routes to that side of the metro. I technically grew-up in Quiapo, my school addresses there, it’s been my home for almost a decade, and it’s very proximate to where I work now. I love the place and proud of it, notwithstanding the bad impression people have on it. Quiapo taught me to be street-smart, it taught me brotherhood and camaraderie, to treat people with respect to be reciprocated. There’s beauty to that place if you only dared look at it.

But my teacher’s statement may also have different meaning. If you analyze it, it may also be read as “lost soul, pray at Quiapo Church and it will lead you back home”. As everybody knows, Quiapo is where the famous Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, or simply the Quiapo Church, houses. Devotees visit the Church to offer their burden and pray for intercession. This veneration was said started with Filipinos who identified themselves with the poverty and daily struggles and tribulations of Jesus, which the Black Nazarene represents. Every Friday, the Church offers novena to all devotees, it is also locally known as the Quiapo Day.

Today, Friday, Flo and I went to Quiapo. Well, how do you know? We went shopping. Didn't I tell you Quiapo is a bargain haven? We were all enjoined to dress-up in our best 80's attire and grove to the 80's music. I must commend the committee who led the preparations, they did their homework very well (read: it’s their era I'm sure. lol). All the aspects of the party were keenly taken care of. You’ll be time warp once you stepped-out of the grounds. The set-up, props, decorations and even the background music were all in theme. Randy Santiago, our guest performer, represents! The color of the surrounding can never be mistaken to any other era. Colorful balls and rubix cubes served as our dinner table centerpiece. Since, I was not lucky enough to be picked at the raffle, I took home the rubix cube, no hard feeling what so ever. lol

Last night, as we were all in our PJs and ready to call it a night, mi bebe was still-up for her last hooray. She reached for the rubix cube at our bed's side table and as if she's solving it. In my 31 years of existence I just walked down the aisle two times - one of which was ofcourse my own wedding in 2008 (my first time to march..ever!) and the other was my sister-in-law's, last Dec. 2011. It's not actually my first invite though, I was just so unfortunate to turn down the others for some reason I can not remember anymore. I'm just so glad, Minnie considered us (mi esposo included) as their cord sponsors. She and her husband Emil were already civilly wed for the longest time now, they already have 2 pre-teen kids, their eldest (a girl) is now an in-coming highschool freshman. It is actually their daugther's pre-admission requisite to that catholic-all-girl-school that <strike>forced them</strike> made them decide to seal their vows in catholic church.

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; It's actually for our annual Christmas party, it’s long overdue I know, but it’s still better than never. =) Everybody seems to be pre-occupied last season to cause this delay, but at least it’s happening. Having said that, we the geniuses among the group, felt that we needed to come-up with "something" to <strike>cut down contribution expense</strike> (genius I told you) make it more meaningful. Since our HBBs’ wife is due on Feb. why not throw her a surprise Baby Shower? In that way, <strike>the couple will shoulder the food expense</strike> it would be more special for them as it will be their first born. They will be having a baby girl, and they're naming her Courteney Ysabelle Therese, nice right?

Fidel (the daddy-to-be) initially wanted for a baby boy, he would joke that he would raise his son as a muslim to marry all of our daughters. She acquired this habit when she turned 1. I'm not sure with other babies, but mine just love to go up and down - non-stop! I don't know where she got this habit from, what I remember was there's this one time before her birthday, mi esposo and I let her stand alone while going down just to see how she'll react - we're glad she liked it. Oh, now I know, she got it from us. lol Mi bebe is so smart to remember that experience. Since then, she would point finger at an escalator whenever we'll pass one - which tells us she want to ride. Well, if ever there's a lost soul, who by fate, found my blog, let me tell you something not so secret about me. I'm lazy! So making a journal is so different, so not me. I once attempted to blog during the hay days of friendster, but it just died after 5 posts (i think). But I must say that I like reading blogs, it's part of my office routine (you know what I mean.lol). Many of which I just stambled while googling and there are few I check on a regular basis. Maybe those few inspired me to create one.

Earlier, over lunch, I told mi esposo about this, he just laugh it off (he knew me that well, I guess). But, let me tell you a little secret.. well my real inspiration is the earnings! bwahahaha It's all about the money, baby. lol I know, (because I googled it off) earning will not be that fast and easy, it will take a lot of hardworks and dedication. It will not even make me a millionaire, but hay, I'm not in a hurry. :) For now, I will try to enjoy the stuff, educate myself in order for me to educate my readers (as if there is), and have fun!

Expect my post to be anything under the sun, "halo-halo" ba.
