Silk (4th) Anniversary

I never knew that there were symbols for every year’s milestone until we celebrated our 1st family anniversary [before all I knew were silver (25th), golden (50th) and diamond (75th) anniversaries]. Family anniversary is the term I imposed proposed to call our wedding anniversary, anyway, a wedding is the start of family formation, it is where the couple’s love is sealed and made into a solid union. To make the long explanation short, the more anniversaries, the more reason to celebrate. lol Seriously, I termed it to avoid confusion against our (relationship) anniversary. Since this is a family anniversary, we will have that time of the year where the whole family can celebrate together and we can also have that “just the 2 of us time of the year” during “our” anniversary.

Does that mean our marriage is stronger now? Well, after passing through the paper (1st), cotton (2nd) and leather (3rd) anniversaries, with silk (4th), I can say yes, symbolism wise. It’s harder to tear, it is harder to rip.

But who needs symbolism to tell us we’re solid? As long as the flame of love is still at its burning peak, we know we’ll surpass any ordeal. I’m glad mi esposo and I maintained the bright and positive prospective as we started our relationship 9 years ago. Plus the blessing of additional family members sure does make us sturdier.

I’m excited to celebrate our diamond family anniversary, I hope we can still dance during the reception, I hope our children can afford the expenses for our renewal of vows. lol

We cling on God’s providence. Thy will be done.

Exciting Weekend

Thank God it’s Friday! Tomorrow is going to be an eventful day for mi familia. Aside from the fact that it’s a mother’s day again, we’re also going to be busy with 2 exciting celebrations. 1st we are going to the christening of mi esposo’s niece and he will stand as the godfather. Afterwards, we are going to witness the union of love in marriage of our friends/officemates/mi bebe’s godparents, where he (mi esposo) will stand as one of the groomsmen.

What’s more exciting is that mi esposo will drive the bridal car, yes he is the official bridal chauffer. He’ll be driving the family’s white SUV, so he didn’t mind. Anyway, I believe everyone is flattered to be of service in every wedding. I would have volunteered to be the on-site wedding coordinator if only there’s somebody to take care of mi bebe. But I’m sure mi espsoso will be the handsomest chauffer in his piña barong.

The most exciting part is, the wedding reception will be held at the La Cocina de Tita Moning, my dream restaurant! I’ve been longing to dine here but still haven’t convinced mi esposo just yet. Finally this is my chance.

Weekends are the perfect time for merriment.

First Time Abay

That's me. In my 31 years of existence I just walked down the aisle two times - one of which was ofcourse my own wedding in 2008 (my first time to march..ever!) and the other was my sister-in-law's, last Dec. 2011. It's not actually my first invite though, I was just so unfortunate to turn down the others for some reason I can not remember anymore. I'm just so glad, Minnie considered us (mi esposo included) as their cord sponsors. She and her husband Emil were already civilly wed for the longest time now, they already have 2 pre-teen kids, their eldest (a girl) is now an in-coming highschool freshman. It is actually their daugther's pre-admission requisite to that catholic-all-girl-school that forced them made them decide to seal their vows in catholic church.
