Prepping Up

I was busy these past few days organizing Dos’ baptism. Not that there’s a lot to prepare but because we had a limited time. I was busy waiting for the additional fund in the name of PBB that I lost track of the date. But that’s fine, as I have said, there’s really nothing to prepare. I believe that the rite itself is what most important, so I didn’t make a fuss. I just complied with the church requirements and made a reservation to this restaurant and that’s it, my Dos is set to be baptised. But for documentation purposes, I still designed an invitation which I posted over at facebook-events. I also primed tokens for the godparents. Simple and traditional that’s my way of baptism. Every night, I update Dos of the progress of his 1st public appearance and he never cease to give me a smile. Cute, cute, my heart melts every time.

Aside from the preparation for Dos’ baptism, I also need to prep up personally. It’s been 3 months since I gave birth and it seemed my uterus is still not following directive from her superior. Didn’t she get the memo to go back in shape? I put an urgent note on it, didn't I? Hay, such a hard-headed fellow. Now, I’m thinking, should I join the bandwagon and diet as well? Oh, no, no… never!

Happy Heart's Day

Among all fabricated occasions (read: invented by enterprising minds just so they can have an excuse to sell), Valentine's Day is the least of my favorite. My principle in life changes during this occasion. For instance, I am never a believer of moving dates for convenience, I believe the speciality of the event is taken-out if you celebrate it on different date, but not during Valentine’s day. Another example, in gift giving, I make it a point to give generous gift if budget permits, or execute well-planned, heart-warming, jaw-dropping, tear-jerking surprise on our every milestone, but never for Valentines. I made this realization after I was asked by HBB Flo of my plans, I said “none” (but it’s “yuck” in my mind. lol). I don’t want to corrupt her mind, to each is to own, as they say, maybe some people are not just for valentine and that includes me. But, I still prepare a little something for mi esposo every year I still don’t want him to be left out. This year, I gave him this: my proof of forever love in a photo frame, simple but says it all. He can put this on his office table or he can use it as a pendant, if he wishes. lol

"give of love" - heart's day 2012

God is love. Let us celebrate love every day, appreciated love-ones every minute and spread love every second. Happy love day!

PS: Interestingly, this is how the "Valentine's Corner" from this convenient store near our office looks like. See the connection? From chocolates to wines to condoms. Hmmm, are you thinking what I'm thinking? lol

Birthday Girls

You can never have true friends in your work place, they say. That may be true at one point, because co-employees have interest and competing perspectives. But that does not apply to me. I’m one lucky person who has colleagues who can be considered true friends. And they just celebrated their respective birthdays this month.

Born on the 13th - Flor/Flo (she writes her name that way): She's one of my HBBs, we met since forever. We live in the same village, our families know each other, classmates at Grade 1, separated for  awhile, and then back as classmates/seatmates/ chatmates/cheatmates/twins/triplets (with her real twin)/barkada/tropa from 1st to 4th year high. Separated in college, and reunited again when she recruited me (and mi esposo) to serve the country. As noble as it may sound, that just means officemates/IMmates/shuttlemates/tropa to us. =) I know, with the boyfriend around, this was her best birthday so far.

Although not my officemate, another HBB - Liza, shares the birthday with Flo. How do you know, they're twins. lol

Born on the 17th - Lui: She's the sweestest. She's also a recruit of Flo, they're college friends. I'm just the luckiest to be working with her. We belong to the same division so we technically work together and we practically share everything here in the office (gossips included). She's my sister and my confidant and my kumare no doubt. With all the blessings she currently have, we still join her and her husband in praying for that one thing that will make them trully happy and complete.

Happy birthday sisters! And thank you for being around, you make work fun as play. =)
