Kitchen Make-Over

Our family decided to renovate my parental home to make new space for the kitchen. We thought that the existing does not serve its purpose well as designed. This time, we didn’t consult an architect, my brother and I just collaborated to come up with a suitable design to meet our (cooking) needs and the budget too. Of course the lesser labor force involved, the lesser cost it will take. But since we didn’t hire an architect (together with his whole entourage of workers), we are faced with the “who will work for us?” dilemma. Getting a reliable construction worker is so hard to find these days, especially in our side of town. How I wish there is something like installitdirect which will take care of this project just like in US where they have install-it-direct san diego synthetic turf, but I can only hope.

So far, my brother contacted a laborer to do the roofing, he is due to report today and start on the roofing, while the mason and his helper are due to report tomorrow. I hope they are true to their words because this renovation needs to hit its finishing stage before typhoon Helen makes a landfall this week.

As I said, I can only hope for the better. I promise to try-test this new kitchen as soon as it’s completed. Better start scouting for new recipes now.

A Fancy Vacation

A group here in the office is busy preparing for their official travel to Palawan this April in relation to the forthcoming PAGBA Seminar. As they are so busy booking their flights and accommodations, I can’t help but jump over their excitement and plan mi own familia’s vacation. Haha

Mi esposo and I have been talking about a trip to a distant place for about forever, I just remembered it again today as I heard my colleague checking on the airfare rate. A trip to somewhere new is a yearly thing with mi familia. We make it a point to relax and unwind in time with the familia’s anniversary (our wedding anniversary actually). We targeted to visit this place last year but since mi bebe was too young, we reserved it to later date for her to enjoy as well. Planning for this trip for the second time around is as thrilling as the first time. But this is not for me to do alone, mi esposo and I always do it hand in hand. I hope it pushes through this year, anyway we still have ample time to prepare and to save-up.

As I checked on the rates over the net, I think this trip is achievable. Only we have to renew our passports sooner.

Hap-py Friday!

I am having a hard time giving mi bebe her “before to bed milk” now. I had no problem with this ever since. She can finish 1 bottle straight-up even after she just had dinner. It’s part of her sleeping routine of some sorts. But this week, for some unknown reason she suddenly would not want to drink it. Either she just plays with the nipple or snobs it altogether. I am considering shifting to other milk formulas but it still have to pass thorough consideration and approval of mi esposo. Sounds too bossy, huh? In short, he just needs to choose either: 1) to shift other brands now; or 2) shift to other brands after the present formula is consumed. lol Just kidding, no decision yet, we still have to weight its pros and cons further. Anyhow, we both agreed that her present formula is the best in the market and her behavior might be due from other factors. We still have to observe.

Last night as I was forcing asking mi bebe to drink her milk, I told her sounding frustrated, “Do you know how to make Nanay happy? Just finish your milk”. Coming from nowhere she said “HAP-PY” in the softest and most angelic voice. It was the sweetest word I ever heard. Did she drink her milk? Forget it! But her Nanay is happy, still.

TGIF!
